Shop!

And the announcement is... I now have an Etsy shop. Check it out at eclecticknitting.etsy.com.

In other words, if you like something you see on this blog and have to have it for yourself, you probably can. Check out the shop and see if it's for sale. If not, drop me a comment and I'll see what I can do.

She sells seashells...

They're so pretty! The shells, I mean. I picked them off the beach Memorial Day weekend and needed some way to showcase them besides laying them out on my desk...

I knit the bracelet and choker from twine, stringing the shells through the twine beforehand. Twine is extremely cheap to use (to the tune of 79 cents a ball) and creates an interesting, rustic look. I used one #5 and one #6 needle (don't ask). And, although I was worried it would be itchy around my neck, the twine actually proved to be very comfortable.

I hoped to create the idea that somehow a shell got caught in a fishing net and wrapped around my neck. I don't know if I achieved it, but whatever it is, I like it.

Recycled Wristbands

I got the yarn for these wristbands from an ugly sweater I bought at a Goodwill outlet and unraveled. Hopefully I can find something productive to do with all this yarn...
